RUSS!A Investment Roadshow
The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London, 20 April 2009

At a time of great uncertainty in world markets, the latest Russia Investment Roadshow gave foreign observers a unique opportunity to hear firsthand about the latest changes across Russia, and to identify the most promising trade and investment opportunities the country has to offer, while offering Russian organisations a high profile platform to continue to reach out to international investors and other partners.

There were over 400 participants, including Hans-Joerg Rudloff, Chairman, Barclays Capital; Pavel Teplukhin, Managing Director, Troika Dialog Group and Chairman, Troika Dialog Asset Management; Igor Yurgens, Chairman, Institute of Contemporary Development; Oleg Kiselev, Adviser to Director General, Rusnanotech; Dmitry Afanasiev, Chairman, Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners; Andrew Somers, President, American Chamber of Commerce in Russia; Kirill Dybsky, Editor, Itogi Magazine; Andrei Donskikh, Chairman of the Board, Uralsib Bank; Leonid Vindman, Managing Director, Head of IB Origination for Russia and CIS, Unicredit, Juliana Slaschova, President, Mikhailov and Partners; Kevin Dougherty, Portfolio Manager, Pharos Financial Group; Aaron Goldstein, Deputy Director, International Listings, NYSE Euronext; Aida Sitdikova, Principal Banker, Power and Energy Utilities, EBRD Energy Business Group.

The programme included a number of unique discussions. At the conference itself, one of the sessions was a special filming of the BBC popular HARDtalk programme, which featured Stephen Sackur interviewing Igor Yurgens.

This was followed in the evening with the Bull & Bear Banquet at the Intercontinental Hotel, which once again featured the interview format that Eventica first introduced following the Global Investment & Finance Forum in Moscow on 2 March. Gillian Tett, Global Markets Editor of the FT, spoke with Stephen Jennings, Chairman and CEO of Renaissance Group, before circulating around the room and giving guests an opportunity to ask questions.

Sergei Kolushev, Managing Director of organisers Eventica, and founder of the Russia Investment Roadshow, said: “We are very pleased with the results of the conference and the feedback we have received from participants in the event. Despite, and perhaps in some way directly because of the crisis in world finance markets, the mobile format of the Roadshow proved its timeliness once again.”

The first Russia Investment Roadshow was held in London in April 2008, as the new concept for Eventica’s Russian Economic Forum. The conference then went ‘on the road’ to the United Arab Emirates in November 2008, before returning once again to London in April 2009.
